Hailsham FM, which provides coverage during the town’s art festival, is aiming to apply for a full time community station license - so it will be on the air all year round.
To do this, and to raise the £3,000 needed for the art festival in September, Hailsham FM is inviting people to become a member.
There is an introductory £20 membership fee or £5 for anyone aged under 18.
Members will have the opportunity to be involved in broadcasting, either behind the scenes or front of microphone.
Technical training will also be available, and for those who would rather listen to the station than become involved, there will be regular podcasts, email updates and quarterly newsletters.
Plus priority tickets to events during the year.
A spokeswoman for Hailsham FM said: “The membership fees will boost the fundraising events hosted by Hailsham FM.
“The most recent was the Shopping Evening on March 3 which raised £297.
“Further events will be announced shortly.
“More information about joining the radio station or other broadcasting queries can be obtained by either emailing email@example.com or talking to Neil Povey on 07759 225371.
“Failing that, a visit to Hailsham Festival FM’s facebook page will provide lots to get excited about including the chance to win a chocolate bouquet and three children’s bunny night lights generously donated by Carolyn’s Sweet Delights.”
