JOYRIDERS drove a car across Seaford Head golf course, causing damage estimated at 300.

Vandals sped across greens and fairways on Wednesday last week. The driver pulled wheel spins and drove in circles ploughing up turf. The damage was found by staff the following morning.

Greenkeeper Dustin Houghton said: 'It looked like they got stuck in a couple of areas. We had to spend the morning after repairing the turf damage near the 18th hole.

It is believed the vandals got on to the course, off Southdown Road, through an entrance used by emergency services to get to Seaford Head.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about the damage to call 0845 6070999, quoting serial 249/31.01.02.
