Just 100 Littlehampton long bench slats left

ANYONE wanting to engrave a personal message on Littlehampton’s long bench will have to act soon as nearly all its reclaimed hardwood slats are full.

Around 1,000 of the bench’s 9,000 slats were made available by Arun District Council when the bench first opened.

However, the idea has proved so popular that, less than two years on, only around 100 slats available for inscription remain.

The council has now launched an e-form for anyone wanting to buy a slat.

It is available online at www.arun.gov.uk/longbench.

The council is also hoping to extend the bench along the entire seafront so it can take its place in the Guinness Book of Records.
