It achieves this through stimulating, interactive and educational workshops, written and created by disabled people and delivered in schools.

The workshops held at Yapton CofE Primary School, which have been specially designed for primary school aged children, showed how Alison goes about her daily life, explores differences and types of disabilities, includes activities, quizzes and a thought provoking Q & A Session.

Alison, who has short arms as a result of her mother taking the drug thalidomide during pregnancy, has visited over 135 schools since working for JustDifferent, delivering her workshops to over 27,000 children.

She is invited back year after year to some of the schools who find her workshops invaluable to the children’s learning.

Alison said: “The earlier children and young people learn about disability & difference the more likely they are to accept everyone as equal”.

Nick Sharp, headteacher at Yapton CofE Primary School, said “In school this week we have had a number of visitors with a range of disabilities, as part of our PSHCE curriculum.

“The children have engaged really well and come up with some fascinating questions. I have worked with Alison previously, and it is a privilege to have her visit us, as she is such an inspiration.

“Thank you to Just Different!”

Since 2008 the team of disabled presenters have delivered their unique workshops to over 185,000 children and young people across the South East, South West, London and East Anglia.
