Just the ticket - Seaford set to benefit from reduced train fares

PEOPLE travelling from Seaford Station will now benefit from all reduced Southern fare offers when booking online thanks to MP Norman Baker.

During Southern’s offers, tickets from Seaford to London were not included.

Mr Baker raised this with the train company’s managing director Chris Burchell.

The MP said it was inconsistent and disadvantaged the residents of Seaford.

Southern responded to the MP by saying that on journeys from April 26, Seaford residents would now be able to secure the reduced fares, which will mean days out in the capital city will become much more affordable.

The first offer will be 25 percent off and residents of Seaford can begin booking them now.

Mr Baker, who is the MP for Seaford and Lewes, said: “This is good news for Seaford train users.

“It was unfair that Seaford was not included in the previous offers.

“These discounted fares are very important to travellers, particular those who might want to visit family members in London or want to go shopping or visit a museum and who do not require peak time tickets.

“It is quite right that Seaford residents deserve the same discounts that others receive and I am pleased that Southern has concurred with my request to provide that.”
