As the war becomes more vicious and the Nazis are pushed back, we follow Sandrine’s network of women resistantes, codenamed ‘Citadelle’.

Simon Toyne, who also lives in Sussex, completed the eagerly-anticipated final instalment of his bestselling apocalyptic Sanctus trilogy with the publication in April of The Tower.

A cyber-attack on NASA’s deep space search for the origins of the universe destroys the programme and delivers a grave warning: mankind must look no further.

As rookie FBI agent Joseph Shepherd investigates, strange weather and mass migrations signal that revelation is coming - but will it be a new beginning, or the end of everything?

The Supper Club, which includes a meal made from delicious Sussex produce, is on Wednesday, June 26 at The Barn, on Ditchling village green and begins at 6.45pm.

Behind The Book Lovers’ Supper Club are two women who share a passion for both food and books: Melanie Whitehouse, journalist and Ditchling resident and Laura Lockington, author, playwright and Brighton resident.

Laura said: “We’re thrilled that our reputation is spreading fast amongst food and book lovers alike, and it’s thrilling that our events are proving so popular. We’ve had many authors wanting to come to Ditchling, I think word has spread that there is a clever, friendly and appreciative audience awaiting them.”

Tickets: £20 from the Brighton Dome ticket Office or in person from The Post Office, Ditchling, or The Mint House, Hurstpierpoint.
