Katin marks link to De La Warr

Classical icon Peter Katin took in a luncheon appointment at the De La Warr Pavilion on Tuesday to mark the launch of a new fund raising initiative.

The building is hoping to raise money for a new concert grand piano for the auditorium and the pavilion's future music programme.

The noted classical pianist, who lives in the town, is holding a special concert as part of the Bexhill Festival of Music to mark his new association with the building.

The programme for the evening will include:

Beethoven: Sonata In C Minor, Op.27 No.2 ("Moonlight")

Debussy: Estampes

Grieg: Three Lyric Pieces

Chopin: Andante Spianato & Grande Polonaise Brillante, Op.22

The concert is on Wednesday at 8pm. Call 229111 for more information.
