Keane’s Tim Rice-Oxley to switch on Polegate Christmas lights


Tim Rice-Oxley, keyboard player and songwriter for the pop group Keane will switch on Polegate’s Christmas lights on Saturday (November 28).

The songwriter, who lives in Polegate, will turn on the town’s Christmas lights at a special Dickensian themed event.

Earlier in the evening there will be performances by Polegate School Choir, the Kingfisher Band and Bourne to Sing on by the Christmas Tree stage.

The mayor’s raffle draw will also be held on the stage at 3.45pm with tickets available on the day of the event.

Elsewhere there will be dancing from the Ragged Phoenix morris side and the Charleston Dancers near the town hall from 1pm and a performance by the Gospel Choir in the South Side area at 2.40pm.
