Two masked men stole around £3,000 in a knife-point robbery at a leisure park in Rye.

At 11.20pm on Tuesday (March 8), officers were called to Frenchman’s Beach Holiday Park, in Harbour Road.

A member of staff had been cashing up in the bar area at about 10.30pm when he became aware of a strange noise coming from the freezer room.

He walked into the freezer room and was ambushed by two men.

The pair pinned him against the door and demanded money.

The victim said he was then sprayed in the face with an unknown substance.

The masked assailants then struck him on the arm with a bottle, which smashed, before smashing a pint glass over the terrified victim’s head.

A Sussex Police dog unit attended the scene but officers were unable to trace the suspects.
