Knife-weilding thief steals motorbike in Littlehampton

A MOTORBIKE was stolen at knife point in Littlehampton on Friday afternoon (January 29).

The owner of the Suzuki DR 350 was cleaning the bike in Selborne Road at about 5.30pm, when a man holding a knife approached him and hit him in the face.

The man, described as 30 to 40 years old, white, 5ft 7in, and of a medium build, wearing a dark puffer jacket, a black woollen hat and light trainers, then leapt on the black and orange bike and made off towards Norfolk Road.

Sgt Peter Allan, of Littlehampton police, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who saw a motorcycle being ridden by a rider who was not wearing a crash helmet.

"In particular a small dark hatchback car with single, male occupant was seen to drive out of North Place immediately after the bike, in the same direction. Police would like to speak to the driver of that vehicle to establish whether he witnessed the robbery, and to eliminate him from our enquiries."

Anyone with information should call Sussex police on 0845 60 70 999, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
