Knights prepare to do battle for a fair damsel at town’s Mediaeval Fayre

The town’s Chamber of Commerce is busy with final arrangements and in the secrecy of a local garden, four of their number are busy rehearsing a new addition to the Fayre – Battle’s very own fighting knights who will be taking up arms against each other in a fight over a damsel in distress.

The president of the Chamber is one of the noble knights, with a past president being in the opposing duo.

Who will the damsel choose – the young pretender or the tried and tested, and slightly older, Knight of the Realm?

The two-day Battle Mediaeval Fayre will kick off at 10am on Sunday June 3.

The event will feature a number of other attractions including maypole dancing, a craft market, fortune teller, pottery making and wandering entertainers.

The event will come to a close at 5pm on Monday June 4.
