Ladies celebrate in style

Founder members of the Bognor Regis Evening Trefoil Guild joined its silver jubilee celebrations.

The four women were among some 50 guests at the guild’s 25th anniversary lunch on Monday at the Robin Hood.

Founder Peggy Carrott said: “There were six of us at the first meeting. Our number grew to 18 within a few months.

“We have talks at our monthly meetings on all sorts of subjects and outings to places as diverse as the Order of the Garter ceremony and the Ford recycling centre.

“We have also helped at various Guide events as well as staying at the international centre in Switzerland and going to international fellowship gatherings in Holland and Ireland.”

Penny Thomas, the trefoil guild’s chairwoman, said: “We have 24 active members. The guild supports Girl Guides locally and carries on the friendship we all had in the Girl Guides.”

An archive display was on show at the lunch on Monday.
