Lancing mum's drink drive ban

A WOMAN who rushed her injured daughter to hospital while more than three times over the drink-drive limit, broke down in tears in court.

Julia Bland, of Highview, Sompting, appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday, January 28), when she pleaded guilty to driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

Miranda Allemand, prosecuting, said 38-year-old Bland was stopped by police as she left Worthing Hospital car park, in Lyndhurst Road, Worthing, at around 12.15am on January 20.

Magistrates gave her a one-year community order and said she must complete 60 hours of unpaid work within that time.

She was also banned from driving for two years and was ordered to pay 60 court costs.
