Patrick Ryan, from EF, said: “We are broadening our catchment area this year to include host families from Rye.

“This is due to Rye families having previously requested to Host with EF.

“The historical and cultural value this will provide EF students with is priceless. Furthermore, the positive effect on the local community will be huge.

At the helm of this recruitment and community is Madeleine Gifkins, who is the contact and for all families who host with EF Language Travel.

It is Madeleine’s 5th year of working in Hastings with EF and she has created a network of local families who have hosted, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for themselves and students alike.

Patrick Ryan said: “EF is always looking to create new partnerships with local businesses that can offer their students great benefits and allow them to enjoy everything East Sussex has to offer.

“It would be great that Rye is also able to embrace the mutual benefits EF Language Travel and its students bring, as they have both been a part of East Sussex’s fabric since 1967.
