Large power outages hit Horsham District, Crawley and Mid Sussex

Hundreds of customers have been left without power due to two faults – a high voltage overhead electricity line fault and an underground electricity cable fault – UK Power Networks said.

Power cuts have hit the areas around Henfield, Hurstpierpoint, Burgess Hill, Bolney, Hickstead, Cuckfield, Haywards Heath, Balcombe and Handcross.

Also affected are the areas around Mannings Heath, Faygate, Roffey, Pease Pottage, Nuthurst, Rusper, Broadfield and Tilgate.

Power is estimed to be restored between 1pm and 2pm, a spokesman for the firm said.
