Last call for Rye and Battle entries for the Heathfield Show

April 7 is the closing date for Battle and Rye entries to the Heathfield Show.

All livestock – cattle, sheep and pigs - and horse classes entries, must be received by this date otherwise the entries will be returned unopened.

With more than 1200 animals expected to enter by that date it is imperative that the organisers have time to process all the entries, double check the eligibility of all the animals and process the data so it can be inserted into the show programme which is available to all visitors to the show free of charge on show day.

The schedule, with all the livestock and horse showing classes, is available from local feed merchants and tack rooms. It is also available online, together with the entry form and remittance form at www.heathfieldshow.org.

In addition to the showing classes there is a flower show at the Heathfield Show, the title for which this year is Sussex By The Sea.

Again, the schedule for this is available online, the closing date for entries to the flower show is May 21.

On show day there are other competitions around the showground which don't require advance entry, including the terrier racing – always fun to watch and for the fearless to enter!
