Horsham District Council is supporting the weekly events with free parking in the town centre car parks after 4pm, as well as on Sundays, while Horsham Unlimited, the town centre business partnership, is co-ordinating its annual Dressed for Success Christmas campaign.

In addition to opening late until eight, many town centre shops and businesses are getting in the festive spirit with special promotions and offers.

For a taste of Christmas for example visit Crates Local in the Carfax where you can try a range of local wines, beers and ciders, as well as other fare.

A free glass of prosecco also awaits those choosing to dine at ASK Italian; mulled wine and mince pies await at White Stuff; glass of bubbles and snacks at Tomoli & Will, East Street; wine, cheese and nibbles at Steisi, Middle Street; a selection of beverages are offered at The Company Hairdressing Salon, Middle Street; and Linen Shop, Carfax, is serving sherry and savoury bites, with a ten per cent discount available on ready made products.

Discounts are also on offer at Boots, Swan Walk, which is hosting a special one day event giving customers £12 worth of points for every £50 spent, meanwhile those washed out with shopping can take children swimming for just £1 at Pavilions in the Park.

In the Forum, Beales has tastings and demonstrations in store, while The Beauty Rooms in Carfax has Christmas promotions going on.

Some of the other shops joining in the festivities and opening until 8pm include Apache, Bishopric; La Source, East Street; Pretty Things, Park Place; Sugar & Snow, Piries Place; House of Gerry Webber and Thorntons, Swan Walk; and HMV, West Street.

Horsham Unlimited’s annual Christmas campaign - Dressed for Success - continues this year too with town centre businesses encouraged to get festive and contribute to Horsham’s holiday appeal.

The window competition returns with the West Sussex County Times making an award to the business deemed to have Dressed for Success in the most beneficial way for itself, the public and the town. Judging will be made by a special panel but influenced by your suggestions.

Who do you think deserves recognition for the festive spirit they inject into the town at Christmas?
