A new not-for-profit organisation has been created in Herstmonceux for those wishing to improve their health and well being.
Vitality Village Herstmonceux will hold an information day on April 25 where it will officially launch.
The day will see representatives of activity and community groups within the parish on hand to discuss and encourage parishioners to join in activities – not just physical ones.
The event takes place in the Village Hall and the new Integrated Health Centre – between 10am and midday on April 25.
A spokeswoman for the new organisation said: “There will be taster sessions for yoga, Extend, tai chi, etc as well as the opportunity to make a smoothie on the Smoothie Bike.
“The event is being funded by East Sussex County Council through their Chances4Change project and supported by AirS (Action in rural Sussex).”
Chances4Change is a Big Lottery funded well-being programme that covers the south east of England.
It aims to improve healthy eating, physical activity and mental well-being.
Action in Rural Sussex works with rural communities in the county.
Its three main aims are - . to reduce the incidence and impact of disadvantage and poverty on people living in rural areas, to increase the capacity of rural communities to manage change for the benefit of all their members and to inform and amplify the voice of rural communities to influence public policy.
