Launch of a new music season

Uckfield Music Club will launch a new season of music on October 18th, on it's 58th and possibly last season.

The organisation has arranged five exciting concerts for this season, but dwindling audience numbers have put in doubt the future of the concerts.

The lack of support has threatened the existence of the area's only professional concert series, which would deal a strong blow to music lovers in the area.

The venue for all the concerts will be Uckfield Community College, and all concerts will start at 8pm.

Membership costs just 30 and will allow access to all five concerts, or you can pay 8.50 per concert at the door, students 2. The concerts are on the third Friday of October, November, January, February and March.

The Amara Piano trio who will play music by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Saint-Saens will perform the first concert in the series.

Formed in 1944, Uckfield Music Club has earned a reputation for attracting countless international artists such as guitarist John Williams, oboist Leon Goosens and the cellist William Pleeth.

With a mix of international stars and local artists Uckfield have continuously provided a high quality of entertainment for the public.
