Community initiative takes off!

As part of the club strategy to position itself as a community asset Horsham Rugby Club held an open evening whereby followers and local members of the community were invited to listen to guest speakers, and then received a guided tour of the clubhouse, grounds and woodland as an opportunity to network and develop ideas as to how the club can help local community groups and be used for the benefit of the wider Horsham public.

Club Chairman Richard Ordidge said “We want Horsham Rugby Club to be viewed in a different way – and not just as a rugby club. Our aim is for our clubhouse and grounds to be more of a community facility.

We were delighted to meet and chat with so many community representatives and look forward to developing our relationships in the future."

Guest speaker was Ian Braid, who worked with the Rugby Football League to establish a number of Community Wellbeing hubs across the North of England to help communities recover from the pandemic, and he shared some of his valuable and relatable experiences that could help inform how we use the Club within the community.
