Barbara Carpenter, grandma to one of the children, said: “It’s been an absolutely fantastic walk through the bluebell wood, beautiful and everyone friendly and lively.”

Mother Amanda Ashman-Wymbs agreed, adding: “Beautiful Bluebells, lots of lovely grounds, well cared for.

“My daughter has really enjoyed it. The juniors were very caring and looked after my daughter.”

It was then time for the maypole dancing demonstration by junior Lavant, appropriately dressed, despite the weather, in summer frocks, and they gave an outstanding demonstration of several dances.

Finally, stories were read by Lavant’s juniors in groups to attentive visiting children.
