He will be exploring things that go bump in the night when he gives a lecture on poltergeists at the Cinque Ports pub in the Old Town.

Malcolm explained: “People have asked, ‘what is the difference between a ghost and a poltergeist’? The answer is quite simple - you don’t want to be locked in a house with a poltergeist!

“A poltergeist is a most destructive force which causes harm to people and destruction to property and whilst seeing a ghost in a house can equally prove frightening, being in the midst of a poltergeist attack can prove quite shocking and traumatic.

“There have been a number of extraordinary poltergeist cases here in the UK over the years and I will be discussing some of the best ones. Cases such as, the Sauchie Poltergeist of 1960, this centred around an eight year old girl who not only had poltergeist activity in the family home, but it also followed her to school. I will be presenting all the facts.”

Malcolm will also be looking at how Hollywood portrays the subject before exploring other famous UK cases such as the South Shields poltergeist; the Borley Rectory poltergeist; the Pontefract poltergeist and the Enfield poltergeist.

The talk will be fully illustrated with television footage of poltergeist effects

Malcolm, who has written a number of books on the subject, added: “I will also present some poltergeist cases from the files of the society, Strange Phenomena Investigations, and will discuss my own paranormal experiences.

“These meetings are for entertainment and education purposes only. Questions from the public are always welcomed and I will aim to provide you with my thoughts to your questions

“All in all, it will be a spooky Halloween afternoon with plenty of supernatural things to talk about. We look forward to seeing you there. “

The venue for the lecture is the Cinque Port Pub, 105 All Saints Street, Hastings Old Town. The cost is adults £5, children +16 and OAP’s is £2:50. The meeting runs from 2pm until 6pm.
