Let's blow away the cobwebs in our business community!

THERE is a wind of change approaching Bexhill and it is going to blow away the cobwebs of decline.

The time had come to stop talking and take action; to accept the challenge; to talk up the town and bring it firmly into the 21st century.

And it was time to leave the past behind...

That s the stirring message from town chiefs at last Thursday s rousing launch of the Bexhill Business Initiative.

The launch was for a major initiative by the Town Centre and Tourism Action Group in its Making Bexhill Better campaign.

The group, which is funded by Rother District Council, is part of the Bexhill Regeneration Partnership, an alliance of public and private groups.

Council officers and members, and representatives from a broad range of Bexhill groups including the Chamber of Commerce Regeneration Partnership, Town Forum, colleges and retailers listened to business consultant Graham Vallis talk on maximising the town s commercial potential.

Mr Vallis will be holding a series of free seminars over the next eight weeks to help reverse the decline in trade and restore the town s flagging business community.
