A pupil from Lewes Old Grammar School has landed a part playing Adrian Mole in Leicester Curve’s production of Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 ¾ The Musical.

Toby Murray, 13, is one of four boys who will be sharing the lead role.

Toby attends The Theatre Workshop Stage School and is represented by their agency.

Last year, Toby played the lead role of Emil in Emil and the Detectives at London’s National Theatre and he was in the original cast of Matilda the Musical, both in Stratford upon Avon and London’s West End. He is a regular face on CBBC hit Dani’s Castle.

Toby said: “I was so excited when I got the news that I’d been offered the role in Adrian Mole.

“I love the script and the songs are amazing. I feel so lucky to be part of such an incredible new show.”
