Jack Johnson, spokesperson for Holidaylettings.co.uk, said that the findings show that Lewes is more in demand with holidaymakers than ever before, making it a great time to rent out your home to generate some extra income.

Pulborough in West Sussex was also mentioned in the report.

Jack said: “These new stats prove that Pulborough and Lewes are increasingly in demand with travellers in and around London. It’s great to see some new tourism hotspots emerge in recent years, alongside old favourites like Whitstable.”

The website describes Lewes as the following: “One of Lewes’ most notable events in the calendar is the annual bonfire celebrations on the 5 November. The Daily Telegraph once described the night as “a head-on collision of Hallowe’en and Mardi Gras”, so if you’re looking for something different this bonfire night, book a rental in Lewes. There are lots of other events taking place throughout the year, including the family-friendly Faerie Festival in May, the beer and cider festival in June and live theatre performances at Charleston. If you’re into opera, then you’ll love the festival at Glyndebourne House. It recently won Festival of the Year at the 2016 International Opera Awards, so you’re in safe hands.”
