Young people are being invited to take part in the The Lewes Passion Play art competition and win prizes.
The play will be performed this Easter in a range of venues throughout Lewes, on the four key days of Easter week.
It will tell the story in four acts of Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, then his teaching, betrayal, death and resurrection.
Young people in years 3 to 9 plus can take part.
They should provide an A4 or A3 drawing or painting of any aspect of the Easter Story that they feel inspired to interpret, based around one of the four acts of the play, including Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
The competition will be split into four categories: school years 3 and 4; 5 and 6; 7 and 8; 9 and above.
It will be judged by artists David Holden and Robert Birch.
There will be a first and second prize in each category.
All winning pictures and a selection will be exhibited during Easter week in the town. The closing date is Friday March 13.
Winners will be announced on Tuesday March 24 by email and winners and selected work displayed throughout the run of the Passion Play: Sunday March 29 to Sunday April 5. To find out more contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07926 486567.
