Lewes man John Agard, winner of The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry, is presenting a verse drama at the All Saints Centre, Lewes, on December 14 and 15 (7.30pm and 3.30pm respectively).

Puff is a satirical two-hander set in the Elizabethan period.

It’s a time when Sir Walter Raleigh makes ‘taking tobacco’ fashionable among the English nobility, with even Queen Elizabeth I herself developing the puffing habit.

Tickets for the one-hour event are £10 in advance; £12 on the door. Visit www.leweslivelit.co.uk for details.
