Lewes tunnel re-opens after dangerous tree removed
The Cuilfail Tunnel in Lewes has now re-opened after being closed to traffic this morning (Wednesday, January 3) because of a dangerous tree.
It had crashed above the northern entrance to the tunnel as a result of Storm Eleanor.
East Sussex Highways had advised motorists to find an alternative route while the hazard was dealt with. The tree has now been removed and drivers have been thanked for their patience.
