Library slog goes on, say campaigners

A GROUP fighting for a new library have vowed not to give up, despite being told they have been left out of this year's budget.

Last week East Sussex County Council's cabinet announced it had released money for libraries in Newhaven and Hastings, but not Seaford.

Shirley Linsell, chairman of the Friends of Seaford Library, said: 'The fight goes on. 'We are not going to give up. OK, it is another two years of battling but we are going to carry on.

'Seaford is going to get this library. We have spend a long while fighting for it. We owe it to Seaford.

'I feel very let down and so do the committee by the powers that be. They have treated us very badly '“ Seaford deserves another library.'

Mrs Linsell said the group's patron, local author Peter James, was supporting them in their campaign and would continue to do so.
