Lifeboat goes to aid of speedboat

Rye Harbour Lifeboat launched on Saturday to go to the aid of a speedboat which had suffered engine failure two miles south of the harbour entrance.

The lifeboat launched at 11.27am and towed the boat safely back by 12.05pm.

Richard Tollett, from the station, said: “Every time we get a shout, you never know what you will find when you arrive on scene. The RNLI advise wearing a lifejacket and checking your engine and fuel before going to sea.”
