Lifeboat in action
RYE Harbour Lifeboat Station is reminding mariners of the importance of having a radio after going to the aid of a broken down speedboat which did not have a radio.
The lifeboat had to abandon a training exercise to attend the boat at Cliff End, Pett Level.
Richard Tollett, from the lifeboat said: “Even in crowded waters and close to shore, a life threatening incident might go unnoticed. The ability to call for help is imperative.”
