LIFELINE IN BEER DISPUTE
THE future of Harveys Bitter at the Lewes Arms hangs by a thread.
The town's favourite beer was due to be removed forever by owners Greene King on Sunday, but, following discussions on Friday between Lewes MP Norman Baker and senior brewery management, a seven day moratorium was agreed.
Mr Baker said: 'I had a constructive meeting with Greene King the result of which is that Harveys bitter will now stay on sale at the Lewes Arms for at least until Sunday.'
The extra week was to allow space for further discussions.
