An evening of entertainment featuring storytelling and glow drummers will lead up to the main event, with more than 25 stores also open late.

The event will begin at 5pm on Friday in the town centre with exhilarating glow drummers, live performances by The Edwin James Festival Choir, Inspirations Community Choir and Sussex West Guide Choir as well as a children’s ride from Coles Funfair.

There will also be a range of stalls selling locally-made Christmas gifts and produce as well as balloon modelling, face painting, and storytelling in Sainsbury’s.

The lights will be switched on in the precinct at 7.15pm by the mayor of Littlehampton, councillor Ian Buckland, and Miss Sussex Victoria Smart.

Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, chair of the Town Council’s Community Resources Committee, said: “It is fantastic to see so many local groups and businesses working together to offer great entertainment and shopping opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

“All we need now is a dusting of snow to complete the winter wonderland feel.”
