Lights blaze on in aid of Katie

SEVERE weather struck Bexhill just as Andrew and Denise McCracken were switching on a Christmas lights display at their home in Hillside Road last Wednesday in aid of charity.

It meant that only close neighbours were able to support the couple, who are trying to raise money for cerebral quadraplegic St Leonards girl Katie Histed, eight, to help provide facilities aimed at improving the tragic youngster’s quality of life.

Andrew said: “We’ve really tried to make ours a display worth seeing and so it was bitterly disappointing when the snow swept in and kept people away.

“But we’ll be keeping the lights going every day until January, from 5pm to 9pm, and would welcome visitors and any donations they’d care to make towards Katie’s cause.”
