Lights, Christmas, Action

WELCOME to Southwick's answer to Blackpool's Golden Mile.

For the eighth year running, the residents of Orchard Close have spent three weekends decorating their homes, gardens, sheds and driveways with hundreds of Christmas lights, singing Santas and snowmen, inflatables, a neon Nativity scene and even a life-size singing Father Christmas.

The lights were switched on, on Decem-ber 1, and will be glowing every night until the New Year.

For the last three years, residents have asked visitors who travel from far and wide to see the neon wonderland to pop a donation in one of the collecting boxes.

This year, the residents in the cul-de-sac off Manor Hall Road are raising money for Chestnut Tree House, the Adur Special Needs Project, Pet Rescue and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Last year, they raised 2,521 for charity.
