Tiger Arts: Lunchtime concert at the United Reformed Church on Wednesday November 9th at 1pm. The Laplace Quartet is returning by popular request- Andrew Biggs (violin), Beatrice Sales (viola), Nick Cooper (cello) and Rosemary Cole (piano).They will play some beautiful classical arrangements. Lunches will be served from 12.15 in the church hall. Admission and lunches are free but gifts towards expenses will be gratefully received.

Joe Swift: A Man About The Garden. The TV presenter will give a talk about how he became one of the UK’s top garden designers. His TV credits include Gerdeners’ World and the Chelsea Flower Show and he is a regular columnist for The Times and Gardeners’ World magazine. Wednesday 9th November at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath at 7.30 for 8pm. Tickets are £16. Box Office on 01444 455440.

Haywards Heath Ceramics Group: On Thursday 10th November the group holds its monthly meeting with a talk on the “London Museum of Practical Geology, 1835-1901, A Mecca for the Serious Patriotic Ceramic Collector”by Susan Newell. Susan is a Consultant for Sotherby’s and has worked at the Wallace Collection with a special interest in ceramics and glass and has also directed courses at the V and A Museum. Lecture in the Small Hall at 10.35am. Doors open at 9.45am with coffee served until 10.20am. Non members are very welcome by prior arrangement with the membership secretary on 01444 483372 or 414477. Tickets are £8.

Lindfield Preservation Society: There will be an illustrated talk in the King Edward Hall on Tuesday 8th November at 2.30pm on “The Magic of Pantomine” by Ian Gledhill. The history of this enduring and peculiarly British institution, interspersed with personal anecdotes from years of working (and appearing) in pantomime. All welcome. Entry free. WW1 Remembrance Exhibition:7pm on Armistice Day at the King Edward Hall. A new community group is being launched by Lindfield residents called Mid Sussex RED.

Royal British Legion. Remembrance Parade: on Sunday 13th November at All Saints Church at 2.30pm. Then afternoon tea at the King Edward Hall.

The Mineral Show: This will be on Saturday 12th November from 10am-4-30pm at the Redwood Centre in Haywards Heath. This is a one day show by the Sussex Mineral and Lapidary Society. Entry £2.50 adults, 50p children.

Remembrance Concert :on Saturday 13th November at 7.30pm at the Dolphin Leisure Centre. Concert by Ardingly Choral Society in aid of the Royal British Legion. The choir will sing the Vivaldi Gloria, Barber’s Adagio and the Pergolesi Magnificat. The Ardingly College Children’s Choir will also sing some items. Tickets £14/£12 from Shirley Ventham on 01273 831264 or from Carousel Music.

Weekends in November with the Bluebell Railway:Children will travel for £1 on 3rd class services. (3-15 years only.) Trains operate on 5/6 /19/20/26/27 November.

Xmas cards for good causes: will be on sale from 1st until 19th December from 10am-4.00pm at Haywards Heath Library in Boltro Rd, Haywards Heath. There are also things like wrapping paper, calendars, toys and stocking fillers to purchase. So if you are popping down to borrow a book or even if you are not, why not get your Xmas cards sorted out here? I go every year and there are masses to choose from and so well displayed.
