Lindfield Country Market: Today Maundy Thursday from 11-12 noon in the King Edward Hall. Easter is there for you with homemade cakes and pies for the holiday weekend plus plenty of craft items or homemade preserves making different Easter gifts. If you plan to get out in the garden the market has well priced plants for sale and flowering spring bulbs. Do pop in to have a look and enjoy a cuppa while you are there.

Lindfield Horticultural Society Spring Show: Not long now! Saturday April 2nd in the King Edward Hall from 2-4.45pm. Even if you are not entering an exhibit you can enjoy all the different flowers and plants on show and then partake of lovely cakes with a cup of tea. There will be plants for sale too and a raffle.

Spring Fashion Show: This is being held in aid of Chalk Hill Hospital. Do come along and enjoy a glass of wine which is included in the £7 entry fee. Wednesday April 6th from 7/7.30 pm in the King Edward Hall. There will also be a raffle. Ring 01444 459305 for more information.

Next lunch time concert: This will be on Wednesday April 13th at 1.00pm in the United Reformed Church. Mark Jennings on classical guitar will play a programme of classical and Spanish guitar favourites. Mark is based at Christ’s Hospital and his playing is described as “with beautiful tones with a musicality that is rare.” There will be lunch as usual at 12.15pm in the church hall. Admission is free but donations are welcome at the end of the concert.

Lindfield Village Spring Clean: Everyone is welcome to take part on Saturday April 16th from 9am-1pm. Just turn up at the king Edward Hall (Library). Bring suitable gloves and wear sensible footwear. Children must be supervised by their parents, carers or adult group leaders. More information from the Parish Office on 01444 484115.

Next Film Show Evening: The film is “Brooklyn” and will be on Thursday April 21st at 7.30 for 7.45pm in the King Edward Hall. Eilis Lacey is a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950’s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America she departs from Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. Soon her past disrupts her new vivacity and she must choose between 2 countries and the lives that exist within. Both Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent are in this film, not necessarily in starring roles, but this is good enough for me! Tickets as usual at £6 from Tufnells.

Handel’s Messiah: on Good Friday at 7.30pm in All Saints Church. Tickets £15 and concessions £12.

Easter Egg Hunt: on Easter Saturday organised by Lindfield Bonfire Society. From 1-4pm in the garden of the Red Lion. Children welcome to join in the fun for £1 but they must be accompanied by an adult.
