Pirate costumes were a favourite with old and young donning hats scarves, eye patches as well as Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow look-a-likes.

There were more than 120 stalls on the common.

Besides the fun and games there was a beer tent, food to suit all tastes and a pet show.

Prizes were given for the best float and various awards in the pat show including best junior handler.
