Lions enjoy dayin fast lane atkarting event

Battle and Villages Lions Club took to the Karting track for a high speed day of fun which raised £500 for the Lions International Blood Research Appeal.

Eight teams took part in the event at Filching Manor.

First place was taken by Jazz Motorsport which was sponsored by Woolwich Lions Club, 2nd place was Route 1066 Cafe team, from Johns Cross, Robertsbridge, and in 3rd place Autowise team from Hastings, who we would like to thank for their continued support over the years.

Organiser Mark Standen said ‘ this was the 13th year that we have run the go-karting event and the day was a great success with both newcomers and regulars making up the teams. There were also teams from Hailsham Lions and a team of air cadets from Farnham Lions Club. The event takes place again in September 2015 if you would like further details contact Mark on 01424 430158.

The Lions next fund raising event will be – the Children in Need Quiz Night, held on 14th November in Ninfield Memorial Hall.

All money raised on the night goes straight to Children in Need for further details contact Susan on 01424 871125.

Also the Lions’ ever popular Chocolate Father Christmas draw will be taking place in pubs and clubs all around Battle and surrounding villages.

Then just before Christmas The Lions have a street collection which will take place in Battle.
