She will repeat her cross-border journey of last year and cover the 500 miles from her home in Tamarisk Close to Edinburgh.

She will leave on November 11 and plans to arrive in the Scottish capital on the charity’s big day of November 16.

She said: “It’s a hard ride because it’s a very hilly route. But I grew up with Children in Need and Pudsey on the TV and I can see where the money I donate goes.”

Assistant shop manager Lisa, 30, intends to arrive in Edinburgh just before this year’s TV evening charity spectacular begins.

She will put up her feet to watch the other fund-raising events around the country before she returns by train.

She hopes to better the record £1,056 she raised in 2011.

This will be the fourth year Lisa has cycled for Children in Need.

The first two journeys took her 200 miles from Bognor to Land’s End.

She decided to change to route for some variety. and to raise more funds. Her total to date is about £3,000. “I cycled from about 7.30am to 6-7pm for the first four days of the ride last year,” she said.

“I had two punctures but, apart from being in the Northumbria country park when it was dark at night, I didn’t have any problems.”
