Little Common Country fair

LITTLE Common Business Association's annual Country Fair is a miracle of miniaturisation.

For the supporters who queued on the pavement waiting to get into Saturday evening's event the wonder was how the organisers manage to get so many stalls and sideshows into the garden and car park of The Wheatsheaf.

That forward-planning paid dividends for the traders, for whom the fair is a major fund-raiser from which they not only finance the village's summer floral displays and Christmas tree and lights but also support local charities.

Saturday's event packed in stalls loaded with books, cakes, toys , plants and plants.

There was a tombola and a raffle, a human one-armed bandit, a palmist, candyfloss, play-your-cards-right, a 150-board with dinner for two as the prize, bowling-for-pigs game and a lucky dip.
