Littlehampton Carnival’s call to join calypso-style parade

IT’S just over a month until Littlehampton Carnival returns to brighten up the summer, and organisers are appealing to the community to play their part in making it another great parade.

More entries are invited for the colourful floats and walking groups which make the procession such a showcase, together with the marching bands already booked.

The theme for this year’s carnival, on Saturday, July 6, is Caribbean Mardi Gras and it is hoped that workplaces, schools, community and uniformed groups, churches, pubs and clubs will take part.

“Last year was a really good parade and we want this year’s to be excellent, too. We have had some entries but would like to see more,” said carnival president Freda Hughes.
