Littlehampton discount card scheme to give charity boost

CHARITIES and good causes in the Littlehampton area could share in a £50,000 bounty from a new initiative which it’s hoped will also give a boost to traders.

The Peel2Save card will be launched in the town next week by business partners Mark and Amanda Beauchamp, as part of a nationwide campaign to raise £2.5m for good causes across the country.

They have signed up 27 local businesses as partners, including restaurants, shops and sports and leisure organisations.

Mark, the owner of Peel2Save Littlehampton, said: “The idea behind the Peel2Save card is very simple – businesses have provided 64 great offers which we have pulled together on the card.

“Good causes then sell the card and get a percentage of the proceeds. It’s a win-win for everyone – the businesses get additional custom, the people who buy the card get over £300 worth of offers and discounts and the good causes get to raise much-needed funds.”

The card chimes in with efforts over the past 18 months to encourage more Littlehampton residents to shop in the town, too.

Amanda said: “In these times of economic struggle, it’s important that communities pull together and support each other and their town. The Peel2Save card makes shopping in Littlehampton very attractive to the shrewd shopper”.

Tuesday’s launch at the New Millennium Chamber in the Manor House, Church Street, will give charities and good causes an opportunity to find out more about the discount card.

Mark said: “We are looking to work with a select number of good causes in the area, so if you are a club, group, school, church, an individual doing a sponsored event or a charity and you would like to use Peel2Save to raise funds, then do get in touch.”
