Littlehampton drink-drive teen banned

A TEENAGE drink-driver who thought he would be fit to drive despite consuming “a couple of shots and four or five pints” has been banned.

Harry Best, 19, of South Terrace, Littlehampton, was stopped by police in George V Avenue, Worthing, on March 28.

A breath test showed he was about twice the drink-drive limit.

Best told Worthing magistrates he was giving his brother a lift to Brighton early that morning, after drinking earlier in the evening.

Despite having his last drink at about 11.30pm, he thought he would be fit to drive.

He was banned from driving for 17 months and fined a total of £415.
