Littlehampton lifeboat in right place at right time

A FALSE alarm became a potential life saver out at sea yesterday (Monday, April 11)

Littlehampton lifeboat crews were called to Bognor just after 2pm, when a yellow dinghy, with two people inside, was spotted drifting out to sea.

When they arrived, they found the inflatable, and its crew, safely on the beach, but as they returned to base, they found a jet ski with engine problems at the entrance of Littlehampton harbour.

Speaking on behalf of the station, Emma White said: “On returning from a jolly the pleasure craft suffered engine failure, quickly became swamped and began to sink.

“The gentleman hopped aboard the lifeboat and the crew towed his vessel back to Fisherman’s Quay.”
