Littlehampton market stall is perfect pitch for charities

More than a dozen community groups, charities and voluntary organisations have benefitted from the community market stall in Littlehampton, which is now celebrating its first anniversary,

The free community stall at Littlehampton’s Friday market, in High Street, was set up in October last year and has managed to help about 30 groups in the area.

The initiative, by Littlehampton Town Council and market operator, Southern Counties Markets, has been hailed a success by both the council and its many users.

Tyndall Jones, of the Littlehampton Bonfire Society – one of the many organisations that have benefitted from the pitch – said: “We think this is a really good idea and would recommend it to others looking to raise funds for their organisations.

“The community pitch is the envy of others as it’s in a prime position, which is very generous of the market operator.”

The pitch is offered free of charge and comes with a gazebo.

It’s designed to help promote local good causes and help raise much-needed funds to support them.
