“I have been in a few singing competitions before, and I do modelling to help with my singing career, to get my name out there,” said the Northbrook College musical theatre student.

“I am dedicated to my singing, acting and modelling.

“A lot of girls, they just want to go out with their friends, but this is my way of having fun.”

To get to this stage, Sophia had to go to Camden for a photo shoot with judges.

“I don’t really get nervous, because I perform a lot, acting and singing, so it was really good fun,” she said.

If she gets through the public vote, she will go on to the finals, and could win a number of titles, including Teen Queen 2011, or Charity Queen 2011.

“The Charity Queen will get to go to Africa, and help people over there.

“That sounds amazing, because I have always wanted to do something like that.”

She also hopes the experience will help with her goal of getting into drama school in September, after she had finished at Northbrook.
