Littlehampton’s ferry service returns to the River Arun

TODAY Littlehampton’s much-loved ferry will be returning to the waters of the town’s harbour, tomorrow (Friday, March 29).

Opened last year, the shuttle route provides a link between the east and west banks of the River Arun.

Services will run every 30 minutes, starting at 10am and finishing at 5pm, during the holidays and every weekend until the end of September.

It will depart from the Littlehampton Harbour Board’s pontoon and will cross to the Littlehampton Yacht Club’s ferry pontoon on the west bank.

As well as providing a link from east to west, the service also runs tours of the harbour, from 2pm. Visitors will be able to see the town’s historic fort, sand dunes, as well as learning some interesting facts about the area.

Tickets are £1 per child, with under-twos going free, and £1.50 for adults. The harbour tour is £5 per person. Tickets are available at the Action Boat’s stall, in Arun Parade, or the harbour office, in Pier Road.

The link is the result of a partnership between Littlehampton Town Council, the harbour board, yacht club, the East and West Beach cafés and Action Boat Limited.
