Lizzie's sale raises £220

LEWES girl Lizzie How and her friends organised a bring-and-buy sale at Southover Primary School on Friday.

And it was so successful that 220.74 was raised for the Blue Peter appeal for money to buy mini-buses to transport the elderly and infirm.

The children raised the cash by selling books, games, soft toys and refreshments. They worked for days beforehand, giving up their breaks and lunchtimes, to sort and price everything that was brought in for sale. The helpers were Lizzie (pictured far right), Hanna, Louisa, Louise, Alice, Sukey, Caitlin, Cassie, Amelia, Katya, Sarah, Shona, Rachel, Sian and Rosie.
