It tells the story of two friends; Mike (Laurie Summers) and James (Stuart Miller), who go hiking in the Scottish Highlands.

When James gets injured they make a choice with devastating consequences.

Leaving the trail they take a short cut to a lone house they saw on a mountainside. With James’ condition deteriorating, time is running out for Mike to save his friend. Alone with only their thoughts and each other, Mike resorts to carrying James over the mountain tops.

Together they push past all perceived limits and discover what they are truly capable of.

Laurie Summers has been making a name for himself for the past two years, delivering show stealing interpretations of flawed sympathetic often boisterous characters such as Major Claude Courtney in the Stables Theatre production of The Lady Killers, portraying a young King Henry the 8th in Anne Boleyn and playing Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night.

Stuart Miller played James 1 In Ann Boleyn and gave a unique portrayal of Feste in Twelfth Night, playing him as a French street mime artist. He also played a Nazi officer in Collaboration.

With The Wild Yonder, the short film will explore the space between reality and fiction.

The story has been scripted with lots of space for planned improvisation for the actors. Neither actor knows how the story will end so there will be a lot of surprises for them.

Laurie edits and directs projects for local theatre companies and bands. Though he currently works as a sound technician he hopes to take up acting full time.

Stuart has a BA in Film Production and worked in various art departments for short films after leaving university.

He started acting a few years ago and has performed in a wide range of productions from Shakespeare to contemporary plays, sight-specific theatre and monologue readings.

He has also acted in a feature film and a music video for jazz-metal band A Sweet Niche.
